Fly is the overachiever of the litter, and we're certain she won't rest until she is a MACH OTCH VST! We are constantly humbled by the success of our beauty queen and her incredible owner handler, Karen.
| Adorable Note from Karen, dated 10/11/08: Ok we went to our first outside obedience trial! Fly is obsessed with bugs and birds and children! I was entered in Rally Advanced B first and it took me awhile to get her attention on me but I did get it and right before I walked into the ring a little kid walked up and hugged her, I loose my dog totally to this kid and Fly is loving him and just kissing him all over his face and hands. So I politely asked if the Mother could move him from the area so I could show my dog without this distraction and she did -- but Fly’s mind was still on this kid. She did the whole course until the end where all she had to do is a 360 circle and left turn and out. She must have caught the scent of this kid who was in the distance and started to wag her tail and I could hardly get her back to me, she lost 4 points for going off course to try to get to the kid!! She did finish and we got her leg in Advanced B with a 96, no placing! Novice Obedience was also very interesting. She heeled on lead magnificently as well as the figure 8 and stand, loosing no points. Her off lead was terrible as she saw a baby chow with all that hair and pointed it on the about turn!! She caught up to me but then we did a halt and then the judge said forward and she sat there staring into the distance and I had to give her another command to heel, not something she has ever done! As it turned out there was an eagle flying around, very beautiful bird and she saw it and was mesmerized by it. I left her on the recall and she was looking right at me and I called her and she sat there but the judge said she was looking at the bird again, she did come but it seemed like forever and I think if I were the judge I would have NQ'ed her but he didn’t. So now the stays: her sit was OK but the down stay, the dog next to her got stung by a wasp and screamed and flew across the ring screaming! I thought Fly would get up but she stayed because the Eagle was back and she was mesmerized again. We Q’d with a 190 and 4th place but what a day of fun for her. She is so funny! Took her with me to the agility trial yesterday and she go to point butterflies all day, she had fun! |

Incidentally, Flynn and Fly are cousins! Flynn's dam Robin, is littermate to Fly's sire Travis.
